I boil 18-24 eggs each week and have tried every possible version out there on how to hard boil eggs. This way, hands down, is the best. The shell never sticks to the egg with this method!
Here’s what to do:
First, fill a pot with water and bring it to a hard boil. As your water is boiling mark the eggs you are going to boil with an “X” using a permanent marker. This will keep you from confusing your boiled eggs from your non-boiled eggs later on. Once your water has come to a boil gently place the eggs into the pot. (Be careful, you don’t want to crack one!) Set your kitchen timer for 15 minutes and let them boil. Once the 15 minutes is up drain the boiling water and fill the pot with cold water. This is important, the water must be cold…this is what makes the eggs easy to peal later. Let the eggs cool in the cold water until the water is no longer cold. Once they have cooled simply place the eggs back in the carton and in the fridge for quick and easy use throughout the week.
