A while ago I shared this video talking about what I like to do when I get cravings, so for today’s blog post in my 30 Days of Blogging Challenge I wanted to re-share this video with you and share some of my favorite teas also.  The holiday season is coming up on us and I like to stock up on some of my favorites that are only available during this time of year!

Random side note: I am actually wearing this same BSU shirt right now.  BSU is getting their butts kicked by Fresno State so I’m trying to quickly finish up this post during halftime so I can focus on the game the second half.

These teas are LIFESAVERS for me at night when I have cravings!! The Egyptian Licorice is my favorite, but is harder to find (I got mine at Safeway in the organic section) but the Bigelow one you can find almost anywhere. The Vanilla Chai does have a little caffeine it, but it never seems to bother my sleep. Having a warm liquid in my stomach for some reason seems to curb any cravings. Also, all of these are naturally sweet, but no sugar, carbs or calories. I usually drink 2-3 cups of tea a day. *Note* If you are breastfeeding you will want to be cautious of peppermint teas as that can effect some people’s supply.  I never seem to notice an issue with it, but I know some people do.  Also, I really like the taste of Mother’s Milk tea and have found that it helps with supply issues also.

The Egyptian Licorice is an herb tea. Here is the blend of herbs: Organic Licorice Root, Organic Cinnamon Bark, Organic Orange Peel, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Cardamom Seed, Organic Black Pepper, Organic Clove Bud, Natural Tangerine Flavor, Natural Cinnamon Oil. YUM!!! It tastes sweet and has a great lingering taste (to me at least).

The Candy Cane decaf green tea is a combination of peppermint leaf, decaf green tea, orange peel, vanilla, and mint flavor. I like it hot and also cold as an ice tea. This is my absolute favorite thing to drink right now!! I have a few bags left from last season that I am hoarding until I can stock up again when it comes out this season.  It is seasonal and is only available October, November, and December. It really helps me with cravings when I can fill my stomach up with a hot cup of tea. If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you Celestial Seasoning makes one called Candy Cane Lane that tastes really similar.

That is my tip for dealing with cravings, and it usually works really well for me.  What are some other tips that you have for dealing with cravings?  Leave your ideas in the comments section, I would love to hear from  you!

I’m taking the weekend off from blogging so I will ‘see’ you guys on Monday again!
