Here is my breakfast this morning and what I eat pretty much every morning for breakfast. 6 scrambled egg whites with spinach and black pepper with salsa on top. 1/2 cup old fashioned oats (not instant oats) cooked with a dash of almond milk and 1/4 cup frozen blueberries. I think this tastes really good and I don’t really ever get tired of it. If I want to mix things up I will make my blueberry protein pancakes (https://nataliehodson.com/healthyrecipes/2012/04/29/proteinpancakerecipe/)
There are SO many mornings that I wake up and think it would be so much easier just to skip breakfast. And trust me, I have had my share of days where that has happened. But, I always find that on the days I skip breakfast I end up getting really hungry later on and when I get really hungry is usually when I get off track with my clean eating. Most mornings I think it is sort of a pain to cook my eggs, but once I cook them and am eating breakfast I am always happy that I did afterwards. I think one of the reasons I am able to stay pretty lean most of the time is because I try to focus on eating every 3 hours which keeps my metabolism up and helps to burn more fat during the day. Today is a busy day for me so I set the alarm on my phone to remind me to eat!
And, yes, that is a baby spoon in my oats. All our ‘regular’ spoons were in the dishwasher so I used one of my son’s spoons. Lol, the life of a busy mom 🙂
