With every new year comes an opportunity to set new goals for ourselves. The fresh slate that a new year represents is always refreshing. It’s the day-to-day accountability and consistency that most of us find challenging. Don’t fall into the same old path and make sure to start the new year off right.
This year, instead of focusing too much on the outcome, or the goal itself, focus more on the actions that you can take each and every day to move in the direction of those goals. For example, instead of saying “I want to lose 20 pounds in six weeks”, ask yourself, “What small steps can you take every day that will help you obtain a stronger, leaner and healthier body for years to come?”
Focus on those small steps. Be consistent with them and hold yourself accountable. Don’t attach yourself to the number on the scale, but to the decisions that you make throughout the day. It is those decisions that will set your habits, and it’s your habits that will lead you to achieving your goals. Whatever they may be.
In the new year, know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to as long as you take small, meaningful, and manageable steps to get there.
