I love making protein pancakes in the morning (I usually make a triple batch for easy breakfasts throughout the week). But sometimes I struggle with figuring out what to put ON my pancakes.
Regular syrup is loaded with sugar, pure maple syrup is pricey, sugar free or calorie free syrup kind of tastes funny…..so lately I’ve been using this method and LOVING it so I thought I’d share 🙂
I just take about 2-3 cups of frozen berries, put them in a small saucepan, and heat them up for a couple minutes. Eventually the berries will kind of melt down, then use a fork and squish the berries down even more.
I’ve been using melted berries like this instead of syrup lately and it tastes awesome, is loaded with antioxidants, and is a lower calorie alternative to syrup.
