Healthy Snacks Trick

Healthy Snack Trick

My kids wanted mandarin oranges for their morning snack and we were able to peel every single one keeping the peel in one piece! I got my kids to eat a bunch of the oranges because they kept wanting to see how many we could peel like this ????

I posted this on Facebook and someone told me that these oranges are genetically designed so that kids can peel them easier. Did you know that? Kinda creepy!

Here are a few tips for healthy snacking for kids:

  1. Fruit is great alternative to fruit snacks, or candy- and it’s still sweet so kids love it.
  2. Pick easy to eat/pack foods- grapes, oranges, watermelon balls, bananas.
  3. If you’re going to have them snack on carbs, shoot for whole grains- which many cracker brands have now
  4. Smoothies are delicious and you can sneak veggies in too!
