Healthier Alternative to Crystal Light

Healthier Alternative to Crystal Light
I put up a video last week with tips for getting in your daily water intake.

Another tip that I didn’t include in the video is to flavor your water.

For those of you who love Crystal Light, I would encourage you to consider switching to True Lemon or True Lemonade. It doesn’t have any artificial sweeteners and tastes just as good as Crystal Light. Most of the time I just add a little bit of lemon juice to my water, but on days that I want something a little sweeter I use some True Lemon. You can find it right by the Crystal Light packets at any grocery store (I have gotten it at Walmart, Wegman’s, Safeway, etc.  You can also order from amazon.com  or directly through the True Lemon website). I really like the raspberry lemonade flavor.  I also have added this to my homemade protein bars before (click here for that easy recipe) and it tastes great.  I also feel comfortable giving this to my kids on occasion in place of juice.

True Lemon
Have you tried True Lemon before?  How did you like it?  Do you have any other tips for getting your daily water intake in?  Leave your thoughts in the comments below and make sure to subscribe to my newsletter (top right hand side of this page) to be the first to find out about new blog posts, and special tips just for my subscribers.

  • True Lemon saved me through my pregnancy and while I’m nursing. I can usually do one pouch in a liter of water and it still tastes delicious.

  • Couple of tips for you:
    1. If your goal is to get 80 ounces of water a day, then get an 8 ounce cup, put 10 rubber bands on it. Every time you empty it, remove a rubber band.

    2. Every time you empty your bladder drink an 8 ounce cup of water, and write it down. Simple tally marks will do.

  • I love the raspberry lemonade True Lemon! I mix one packet with my 32 ounce water bottle and it gives me plenty of flavor despite being twice the amount recommended. Yummy!

  • I add apple cider vinegar, caramel extract and stevia to my water. Tastes like Caramel apple.

  • I use an old Arizona Tea (notice I said OLD) gallon jug. I mark it with a sharpy marker for hours of the day that I need to have that water drank. It keeps me on task.

  • Thank you for posting an alternative that doesn’t use fake sweeteners.

  • I use organic fruit tea and steep 2 litres at a time to put in the fridge. I don’t add any sugar or sugar subsitute because I find the fruit flavour is sweet enough. I prefer loose leaf and am even looking into growning my own tea ingredients in the garden this year.
