Clean Eating Works!

Clean Eating Works! Awesome website from a mom who gained 60 lbs during prenancy and got back into shape. She shares recipes and workouts for free! www.nataliehodson.com

Clean eating works!! I wish so badly someone would have told me this after I had my son. I gained 60 lbs when I was pregnant and had a really hard time losing the weight. I always thought I was eating "healthy" but what I know now is that pre-packaged foods with a ton of ingredients and a lot of sugar won't get you lean and toned - even if the label says, "healthy". I didn't get lean by any crazy ...[Read More]

Stretch Marks – It Happens

www.nataliehodson.com - this mom gives real life advice about balancing healthy eating with real life

I probably sat here for about 30 minutes before I got the guts to click "post" for this picture, but when I started this page I promised myself I would stay as authentic as possible in all my posts, and I wanted to share with you something that came up in a conversation with some friends tonight - stretch marks. The reality is, that most women have stretch marks somewhere on their body and almost ...[Read More]

The Big Stuff

www.nataliehodson.com - Natalie Hodson Website

I know this isn't fitness or health related but when I read this last night it really resonated with me. My son is right at that age where he repeats every word you say about 50 times. i.e.: Me: Let's get your shoes on. 2-year old son: Shoes on? Shoes on? Shoes on? Get shoes on? Get shoes on? Get shoes on? Get shoes on? Get shoes on? Get shoes on? Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Sometime ...[Read More]

Healthy Grocery Store Trip Video

Healthy Grocery Store Trip www.nataliehodson.com

When I first started eating clean I realized that, previously, many of the foods I thought were "healthy" were actually not very healthy at all. Marketing can sometimes be deceiving. The best advice I can give is to always, always read the ingredient list before you put it in your cart at the grocery store. My general rule of thumb is that if it has more than 5 or 6 ingredients, or any ingredients ...[Read More]

Veggie Bloat Video!

www.nataliehodson.com: Crazy Veggie Bloat!

My husband told me I shouldn't post this video and that if I did post it I would probably lose all my fans because this is so weird and in his words, "creepy". But, I figured if this is something I have a problem with, surely there has to be other people who deal with this too (even if it's not really a very flattering video). In my video, I called this "veggie bloat" but please keep in mind this ...[Read More]

Why Is Almond Milk Better for You than Regular Milk?

Almond Milk

Regular milk (even skim or low-fat) still has quite a bit of sugar. I try to keep my grams of sugar under 5-6 grams per meal and 35 grams per day. I noticed that once I made this change the extra fat on my tummy really started to go away. Instead of milk, I use almond milk. I like the Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla (40 calories per cup and no sugar). The Silk brand is pretty good too, but I pre ...[Read More]

Where Do I Find Liquid Egg Whites?

Really helpful tips for healthy grocery shopping: www.nataliehodson.com

Here is a picture of the liquid egg whites I use for my frozen egg white dessert each night (you can find that recipe by clicking HERE). I typically just buy whichever brand is the cheapest. But, you really want to make sure you get the 100% egg whites. The "egg substitute" is usually 99% egg whites but has a bunch of other stuff added to it with names I can't pronounce. There will be a spot on th ...[Read More]

Healthier Alternative to Crystal Light

True Lemon – Healthier Alternative to Crystal Light

For those of you who love Crystal Light - consider switching to True Lemon. It doesn't have any artificial sweeteners and tastes just as good as Crystal Light. Most of the time I just add a little bit of lemon juice to my water, but on days that I want something a little sweeter I use some True Lemon. You can find it right by the Crystal Light packets at any grocery store (I have gotten it at Walm ...[Read More]
