Veggie Bloat Video!

My husband told me I shouldn’t post this video and that if I did post it I would probably lose all my fans because this is so weird and in his words, “creepy”. But, I figured if this is something I have a problem with, surely there has to be other people who deal with this too (even if it’s not really a very flattering video).

In my video, I called this “veggie bloat” but please keep in mind this doesn’t really happen from 1 or 2 serving of vegetables. This happens when I eat a huge (1.5-2 lb) bag of raw green beans or snap peas, etc. So, please don’t think veggies are bad for you because they will make you bloat. Veggies are so vital to getting lean! This just happens to me when I eat an extremely large amount of veggies at once. This doesn’t happen if I eat a normal serving of vegetables.

This bloat usually happens about 30 minutes after I eat a ton of veggies, and goes away about an hour later. I do take one capsule of Udo’s Adult Probiotic each morning and that has helped with my bloating significantly during the day but this still happens if I eat a ton of veggies at once.

Do any of you deal with bloating like this?? I hope I’m not the only one! That would be embarrassing!! :)

  1. Hi Natalie, that video cracked me up so bad! I have the same issue, but it’s eveytime i eat, not just veggies, and moreso only since my son was born (3 1/2 yrs ago)…no matter how I adjust my portion sizes or how hard I work out and eat clean I cannot seem to get it to stop. I’ve been looking 3 months pregnant forever! I started trying the apple cider vinegar each day and that seemed to help a tiny big, but I think I will try those probiotics you mentioned. I get a lot of discomfort along with it. My doc wants to check me for a midline hernia she said perhaps from being pregnant it could have damaged my stomach muscles…who knows, but thanks for sharing!! Nice to know I’m not the only eternally pregnant girl!

haha, good to know there are other people who deal with it too!! :) Thanks for the comment Kristin.

  2. Natalie! You seriously just made my day with this video. I am a vegetarian and I have the same problem EXCEPT ALL DAY. Since I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables throughout the day I feel constantly bloated. I don’t like taking medication for a naturally occurring side effect but I feel so chubby all the time. I too look in the mirror and feel like I look pregnant. Thanks for sharing.

haha, glad someone else goes through this too! :) I have found that taking a probiotic helps a lot. I like Udo’s Adult probiotic (I get it at my local health food store) and I take one capsule a day.

  3. Oh my goodness this saved my life!! haha!! I have tried to explain this to my mom on the phone a million times and she thinks im going nuts! THANK GOD it seems to be normal and I am not the only one! I am hitting up Udo’s asap! :)

  4. Yes – I have this same problem. By 6 pm after meal 5 I look 6 months pregnant. No matter what I eat….. I even cut my veggies out – all but my sweet potatoes and it still does it so I’m just doomed to bloat. lol

I have the same issue with tummy bloating. I have been told that digestive enzymes/probiotics may help keep it down. I dont know if its painful at all for you, but I am so uncomfortable when this happens, and I feel like I look preggers!

  7. I have the very same issue, it is really uncomfortable, and with me I don’t need to eat boatloads of veggies, if I eat 2 to 3 servings I am sure to be bloated. I hate this… but it would never stop me from eating veggies!
Mine is to the point that I look pregnant too, and I tell you, I have had my son ask me a couple times already if I wasn’t sure I wasn’t pregnant because my belly looked big. Not the least amusing, but what can I do?!
Happy to know I am not the only one though as I always thought I had some kind of issue with my digestion or bacteria in my guts.

Oh my goodness! I am so happy to see that I am not the only one with this issue. No one I know has it and they think I’m crazy! Thank you so much for posting this. :)

  10. I’ve been using the Udo’s since I watched this video. They made me really sick for the first couple of days but that completely stopped. I feel like they do help for a lot of it. Sometimes it still happens and I can’t seem to find any rhyme or reason why, but I’m so thankful that you mentioned them! I am going to purchase a lifetime supply!!

  11. That’s hilarious and refreshing to see someone be open about things like that. I suffer from bad bloating, but it’s from IBS, not veggies. It’s slowly getting better I know what it’s like to get legit pregnant. Bizarre.

  12. jaaaaaaaa! waas so funny, I can do thaat! hahahaha ^.^
