Being Kind to Yourself

being kind

I still have days where I feel insecure in the gym. A lot of days actually. I am not immune to it. Days where none of my clothes fit. Days where I feel scrawny and not strong. Days where I look in the mirror and look at my legs and don't feel fit or in shape. Days where my emotions got the better of me and I wanted to cry halfway through my workout. I've learned a few things about myself. 1) It is ...[Read More]

Success Is…

I have failed so many more times then I have succeeded. It can be so easy to get caught up in the "failure" part but what I've found is that if you write out your goals and have a clear vision for what you know you want to accomplish, it gets a little easier to get on track after a setback. You assess what went wrong, what you could have done better, and you keep on moving forward. Remember, those ...[Read More]

Internal Dialogue

This is how the dialog in my head went this morning while I was talking to myself: 4:50am (alarm went off): Me: How could it be 5am already?! -I had to get up 4 times last night with a sick baby I should just go back to bed. -You are supposed to do a leg workout today, you should really just get out of bed. -But I am so tired, just 5 more minutes. -You know 5 more minutes isn't reall ...[Read More]

I remember feeling so discouraged that I had lost so much progress and that my arms and core were so weak. I remember going running for the first time and uncomfortably pull my shirt down over my tummy that was jiggling over my pants. I remember looking in the mirror and wondering if my ...[Read More]

I hope this is a message that will ...[Read More]

Lazy Man Sweet Potato Recipe

lazy man

Sweet potatoes are SO inexpensive right now! My grocery store has them for 25 cents a pound!  This is my favorite 'lazy man' (or woman) sweet potato method. Two steps: 1) wash sweet potatoes 2) throw in crockpot Done! Cook on high for 4 hours until soft. I threw in a few red potatoes here and will mash them all up together for dinner with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Enjoy! PS - A lot of peo ...[Read More]
